Graduation for Brice is special in lots of ways for us. One being that it is the evidence of hard work and sacrifice paying off. Night classes 4 days a week until 9:30, up to 18 credits, long days, early mornings, Sat classes, dreaded homework...And he survived. We both survived. It also is a testimony builder for us that when he we trust our hearts and Heavenly Father, all things really are possible.
When Brice and I got married he still had a few years of school left. Some people weren't afraid to voice their opinions to us about it. Some were about what we were doing even getting married in the first place when Brice was younger than me, why Brice was not going to BYU and going to the evil school instead haha, and how I could possibly not work as a teacher anymore. Sometimes it was hard to ignore. We learned to move past these comments and move forward trusting in ourselves.
We didn't want to wait to have a family until school was done. So we took that leap of faith even before we were married and made the plans. Brice switched from BYU to UVU so he could work and go to school at nights. Through inspiration we saved over 600 dollars a month for the year leading up to having Cade to help us for the next year. We have lived modestly but comfortably. We have made it and made it well I would like to think. We definitely feel more ready now then we would have been before to take on the next adventure.
Im so proud of Brice! He is one of the steadiest, naturally well balanced, most hardworking, loving, quietly confident, unassuming people I know who would do anything for his family. Love you Brice and so proud of all your hard work!!
Couple of his favorite professors. you could tell the feeling was mutual. |
